Judy Estey

Judy Estey has taught ballet and tap at Dance Place for almost 15 years (!) and has loved seeing students and families grow throughout that time. As a part-time dance teacher in DC, Judy has served on the faculty of Ballet Teatro Internacional, Dance Institute of Washington, Sitar Arts Center and Dance Place. Judy graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Dance and Political Science from Barnard College, Columbia University.

Judy began dancing at age four in Providence, Rhode Island, training extensively in ballet under Mary Paula Hunter, as well as in modern dance, jazz and tap. Judy danced with JUMP! DanceCompany for six years in Rhode Island, touring to New York in Movement Research at Judson Church, Summer in the Square (Washington Square Park) and Dance NOW/NYC festival. She also served on faculty at East Side Ballet Studio teaching ballet and jazz. Her choreography has been performed regionally at The Yard, PS 122, Summer in the Square NYC and in theaters throughout Rhode Island.
