Tiernan Damas

Dr. Tiernan Damas, PT, DPT, CMTPT (she/her/hers) is excited to join the Dance Place team as the COVID Compliance Monitor. She received her Bachelor of Arts with honors in dance from the University of Iowa. Previously she worked administratively for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Chicago and Dance/USA. Following her career as a performing artist and working in artistic administration she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Emory University. She specializes in performing arts medicine, previously treating the Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, and Suzanne Farrell Ballet among other local artists. She is an active member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and previous contributor to Dance/USA’s Dancer Health Task Force. Tiernan works as an Adjunct Professor at Emory University’s Department of Physical Therapy. Her course work focuses on healthcare access for underserved populations and communities.
