Ariel Harper

Ariel Harper (she/her) Ariel Harper is classically trained dancer, educator, choreographer, and artistic programmer born and raised in Westchester County, New York. Harper has over 20 years of training in ballet, jazz, Horton, Graham and Limon techniques. Harper has trained at The Ailey School, the Martha Graham Young Artist Program, and Northwestern University. During her time in the Martha Graham Young Arist Program, Harper performed with the Martha Graham Company during the 2012 season at the Joyce Theater. After graduating, Harper returned to New York where she began her career as a dance educator and choreographer. While in New York Harper led programs for community centers and public schools in the New York tri state area creating spaces for accessible dance education. After relocating to the DMV area in 2021, Harper continued to work in dance education and artistic management at Prince George’s Community College in Largo Maryland and Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia. Harper’s teaching style focuses on developing the technique of students while encouraging them to find their creative voice and artistic style. Harper’s belief is that dance is for “every body” and that everyone has the ability to learn and grow through dance. Through programming, Harper aims to create multiple opportunities for dancers of all backgrounds to explore and discover more the art and their creativity in the dance studio.
