Two people dance in a large brick room with stage lighting. They both wear red shirts, khaki pants, and sneakers in the style of Target department store employees. One, a woman, lands a jump facing the camera in a lunge; her blond mullet is still flying in the air. The other, a man with a shaved head, faces away; he is mid-jump with his arms and legs outstretched. Photo by Walter Wlodarczyk @ The Brick
Shining Beacon Arts Residency is a collaboration between Connor Voss and Rebecca Patek, which combines documentary, dance and medicine to help you decalcify your pineal gland and power a revolutionary new art program in upstate New York.
This performance follows their research journey which began at the Shining Beacon Arts Residency (SBAR), a program within the Target Department Store, to help artists realize their true potential within a retail environment. Whether you are an artist, a scientist, a doctor, or a retail worker, you too can find a home within Shining Beacon (SBAR).
This work is supported by the Dance Place Co-Presentation Series.
