Release into gravity, engage your core and find your power in Sharon Mansur’s contemporary dance class. With somatics, improvisation, yoga and daily movements woven in, this class embodies an active dialogue with inner sensation and outer expression.

Through both movement sequences and improvisation scores, the whole person is emphasized. Virtuosity exists in many forms, including the powerful act of bringing oneself to the moment as fully as possible. Enjoy your own practice and moving together in community.

About Sharon Mansur

Sharon Mansur is an interdisciplinary dance and visual artist currently based in Minnesota, and she enjoys a long and evolving connection with Dance Place and the Metro DC dance community. Sharon is a Certified Laban / Bartenieff Movement Analyst, Reiki energy healing practitioner and Certified Massage Therapist.  Her modern training includes Mark Dendy, David Dorfman, Sara Rudner and Keith Thompson with Contact Improvisation, Viewpoints, Action Theater and Authentic Movement, and other improvisational practices as well as visual art studies. Her live performance projects and dance films have been shared throughout the US and abroad, and she was a dance faculty member at the University of Maryland. Sharon is thrilled to be performing a site-specific improvisational duet with Erica Rebollar June 17-18 at Joe’s Movement Emporium in Mt. Rainier, MD.  www.mansurdance.com
