Louisa Buatti

Louisa Buatti (she/her) is a longtime dance enthusiast and lover of the arts. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, she was fortunate to have grown up in a community that offered strong arts education and many opportunities to see free or inexpensive performances. Since moving to Washington, DC nearly three decades ago, Louisa has enjoyed hundreds of dance performances by local, national, and international artists. Because dance performance has so enriched her life, she is committed to helping Dance Place in its ongoing support of artists, dance students, and community. She joined the Dance Place Board of Directors in 2019.

When she is not watching or reading about dance, Louisa works as a health services researcher for Abt Associates, a policy, research, and technical assistance firm. Her career is focused on improving Medicare, the federal health insurance program for people who are elderly or who have disabilities. She served as an elected representative on Abt’s employee advisory council and is an inaugural member of the team dedicated to embedding equity in research. Prior to becoming a health services researcher, Louisa earned a bachelor’s degree in history and French from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in health policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
