Julia Johnson

Julia Reynolds Johnson (she/her/hers) is a lifelong lover of dance, studying ballet for many years (until Pointe proved too painful) and exploring modern and jazz along the way. Growing up in the suburbs of NYC, she and her family enjoyed countless dance performances, and she is thrilled to be on the Dance Place Board.

Ms. Johnson graduated from Georgetown University in 1985, Magna Cum Laude. After working as a paralegal for a year, she attended Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a legal research and writing assistant and a member of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. She graduated Cum Laude in 1989. She began her legal career at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, where, among other things, she litigated cases on behalf of the FDIC against officers and directors of failed savings and loan associations. In 1994, she joined what is now K&L Gates LLP. She spent the remainder of her legal career there, ultimately becoming Of Counsel in the insurance coverage group.

Ms. Johnson has extensive Board experience having served on the Boards of multiple PTAs, a non-profit child care provider and the Junior Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase.
