Fabienne Santel

Fabienne Santel (she/her/her) is a medical doctor with over 20 years’ experience in various areas of healthcare including direct patient care, research and healthcare policy addressing disparities among minority and unserved populations.  Her positions have ranged from providing acute hospital care, to working for both the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, to volunteering as a primary care provider to underserved immigrant populations of Montgomery County, Maryland. Currently she is a Medical Director of Global Medical Safety at Becton and Dickenson, a global medical device manufacturer. Fabienne was born in Haiti, immigrated to the US as a young child and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to the DC area in 2004 and currently resides in Montgomery County, MD and is the proud mom of 2 teenagers and 1 young adult.

Fabienne has had a profound love of dance ever since childhood quickly realizing its ability to enhance one’s physical, emotional and mental well-being while also serving as a way to represent different cultures and history. To that end Fabienne has been a frequent participant in many dance events, workshops, and classes around the DC area including Dance Place where she has been known to drop in on a West African or Rueda de Casino class. As a member of Dance Place’s Board of Directors, Fabienne is excited to work towards supporting Dance Place’s continuing mission of dance enrichment and education.
