Dance Place’s New Releases Festival is an annual, audition-based mixed-bill presentation. Dance Place’s annually curated showcase features some of the best new works by established and emerging choreographers. In partnership with Dance Metro DC, this performance features 2018 New Releases Commission recipient Jamal Abrams.
Sign up to audition for our New Releases Showcase by submitting a short-form work in any style or genre of dance on Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8, 2019. Selected works will receive a $500 stipend to perform in our 2018-2019 New Releases mixed-bill showcase on Saturday, May 18 at 8pm. One work will be selected to receive a $1500 commission to create a new work for the 2020 New Releases Showcase.
