John K. Glenn has been exploring movement improvisation since 1987.Before movingto DC, he taught contact improvisation for Movement Research in New York City from2001-04 and initiated acontact improvisation jam in Soho, which continues today. He has performed at the DC Improv Fest at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, the Arts on Foot Festival at the Warehouse Theater Gallery, the New York Improvisation Festival at Judson Church, PS122’s Hothouse, the Bowery Poetry Club’s Movement and PoetryFestival, the Culture Project, and the WOW Theater.From 1989-96, he performed withPaula Josa-Jones/ Performance Works, touring to the Joyce Theater in New York City,Dance Umbrella in London and Boston, Jacob’s Pillow, the Bates Dance Festival, aswellas residencies at Wesleyan University, the Flynn Theater in Burlington, VT, and TrinityCollege.His training includes modern dance, contact improvisation, tap dance, andAlexander Technique.
