Chris Hornig (he/him/his) is a lawyer and founding partner of Klein Hornig LLP. Chris and his colleagues represent nonprofit, for-profit and governmental entities that own, invest in, or otherwise contribute to the development and operation of affordable housing projects nationwide (although with a strong focus in the District/Maryland/Virginia area). Earlier in his career, Chris served as the first Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Housing Investments with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and, in that capacity, designed and implemented the HOPE VI program.
Chris has lived most of his life in Washington, DC, including 40 years in Mt. Pleasant. He first connected with Dance Place when he assisted pro-bono with the development of the 8th Street facility and other legal matters. Chris joined the Dance Place Board in 2020. He takes particular pleasure in knowing that families from neighboring affordable-housing projects have benefited from Dance Place classes and summer activities.
