We have three sessions of kid’s classes: Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer. Check out our Kids on the Move page to see what classes are happening now!
Our registration closes two weeks after the start date of the current semester. If you would like to be on the interest list for the next semester, please call 202.269.1600 to stay in the loop about future registration opportunities.
You can register over the phone by calling 202.269.1600 or online through our Kids on the Move page.
Our kids classes are subscription based therefore we do not allow drop-ins. However, we would be happy to show you around our facilities and talk about our kids classes in person with you!
Unfortunately we do not give refunds. At the beginning of the semester, your child is welcome to try out the first class of the session to see if it is something they would enjoy. To arrange this, please call 202.269.1600.
We have a limited amount of scholarships available. We also have the option of creating a monthly payment plan. Please call Dance Place at 202.269.1600 if interested.
Everyone is welcomed at Dance Place! While registering your child, let us know of their needs and we can talk about what we think will work best inside the classroom.
In Tumbling, Creative Movement, Modern / Contemporary students wear comfortable clothing (sweats, leggings, t-shirt, leotard) and are barefoot.
In Ballet / Tap students can wear a leotard and tights or comfortable clothing. Ballet shoes and tap shoes are needed for the class.
In Hip-Hop, students can wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Parents are not allowed in class. The only exception is Move with Me which is a parent / child class. There is parent observation at the end of each semester where parents can watch the class their child is in.
Our goal is to help students become accustomed to being in a dance class without their parent. Some teachers employ a scaffolding model, where on the first week parents come into class for a few minutes, the second week parents walk their child to the door and by the third week students are walking to class with their classmates and teacher.
Dance Place does not have a makeup class policy.
