Foundation and Corporate Support

Since 1980 D.C.Wheel Productions, Inc. has grown its facility, Dance Place as one of the nation's premier community arts centers. Viewed as a Theater, School and Community Resource, and fueled by a passion and expertise in dance, Dance Place is recognized for its leadership role and model programs in the national and local arenas. These programs aim to expand the field of dance, nurture leadership for the future and strengthen community partnerships. With ownership of our building, development of a broad reach of artistic and educational programs and leadership in the nonprofit community, Dance Place has strengthened our connections to our immediate neighborhood, the greater DC community and the nation. In particular, we have played an unprecedented role in the development of the local dance community first in our rented home in Adams Morgan, and since 1986 at our permanent home in Brookland.

Crucial to the organization's mission is a commitment to serving the rich cultural diversity of our nation, city and immediate neighborhood through a wide variety of affordable and free programs such as: Energizers After School Programs, Inreach and Outreach programs to the public schools, Kids on the Move Dance Classes, Summer Camp, Jr. Staff job readiness for teens, college Internships in arts administration, Fieldwork Showcase laboratory for choreography, New Releases Choreographers' Showcase and the forty-two week Performing Series in our theater.

Dance Place maintains its programming seven days a week throughout the entire year. Performance admissions and class fees cover just a fraction of our operating costs. We can only succeed in our mission through the help of numerous friends and institutional supporters. We hope that you will take the opportunity to explore the various ways to becoming involved. Dance Place offers individual giving programs including the Friends of Dance Place Membership, while institutional supporters can become involved as corporate sponsors or foundation underwriters. Please join us by becoming a member of the Dance Place family; we would greatly appreciate your support.
